To maintain the shape, lift the hat with both hands using the front and back brim. Do not pick up the hat by the crown.

Avoid hanging your hat on the same side all the time.

To remove dust, use a pure bristle brush, combing the fibre in its natural direction, then expose the hat to the steam jet of a kettle to sanitise and invigorate the felt.

To remove small stains from felt, use a damp cloth using a circular motion without excessive pressure.

To remove stains from the morocco, the grosgrain band that decorates the inside of the hat, rub with a white cloth soaked in a small amount of Avio stain remover, avoiding the surface with the engraved gold Borsalino logo. If the morocco is made of leather, rub with a cotton ball soaked in cleansing milk.

If the hat gets wet, dab it with a soft cloth and leave it to dry in a ventilated place away from heat sources.

Store the hat away from light, humidity and heat sources in a mothproof container.
